Stacking the Shelves #2

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It's all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in a physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

I didn't purchase any books this past week, but I did win some and also received a few for review. :)

Book Cover Guessing Challenge

Hey guys! The wonderful Fiona from A Girl Between the Pages tagged us to do this challenge! Thanks for the tag, Fiona!

So, what's basically going to happen is I am going to choose some books that I don't know much about and try to guess the synopsis based off of the cover. Once I'm done guessing, I'm going to compare my guess to the synopsis on Goodreads and see how well I did.

Alright, let's get started!

From the USA TODAY bestselling author of Sweet Thing and Nowhere But Here comes a love story about a Craigslist "missed connection" post that gives two people a second chance at love fifteen years after they were separated in New York City.

To the Green-eyed Lovebird:

We met fifteen years ago, almost to the day, when I moved my stuff into the NYU dorm room next to yours at Senior House.

You called us fast friends. I like to think it was more.

Title: No Love Allowed
Author: Kate Evangelista
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary
Publisher: Swoon Reads
Release Date: April 19, 2016
Source: Publisher

Caleb desperately needs a new fake girlfriend. Either he attends a series of parties with a pretty girl on his arm to schmooze for his father's law firm, or he gets shipped off to Yale to start a future he's not ready for and isn't sure he wants. And sadly the last unattached girl in his social circle has just made the grievous mistake of falling in love with him. Fortunately, Didi, the waitress at the Country Club— who just lost her job due to Caleb's too-public breakup is open to new experiences (and art supplies are expensive!). It's the perfect setup for them both. Caleb has only one rule for the arrangement: Didi mustn't fall in love with him.

Title: Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Author: Laini Taylor
Genres: YA, High Fantasy
Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Publication Date: September 27, 2011

Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.

In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grows dangerously low.

And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.

Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real, she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands", she speaks many languages - not all of them human - and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.

When beautiful, haunted Akiva fixes fiery eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?

Top 5 New Releases of Fall/Winter 2015

Hi guys!  Nina here.  If you don’t already know who I am then make sure you check out the previous most recent posts.  This is my first blog post, which is super exciting! I had no idea what I wanted to write about but I finally came up with something. The year is already more than half way done... Wow!  Anyway, as you can probably tell by the title of this post I am going to list my Top 5 New Releases I am most excited about releasing this Fall and Winter of 2015. P.S. I have also linked the summary to each book to Goodreads. Be careful not to click on any of the summaries that you want to avoid spoliers for because there are quite a few sequels here.

5.  Maybe Not by Colleen Hoover.
Technically this isn’t a new release and I’ve actually already read it months ago when it officially released, but the paperback edition is coming out! I can’t wait to add it to my collection of CoHo books and reread Warren and Bridgette’s story all over again.

Meet My New Co-Bloggers!

As you can see, I haven't been so active lately. It's just that life is a bit busy at the moment, and also, school will be starting soon and I won't have much time to blog or even stay active on my social medias. Although, I'll try my best to post as often as I can, I felt the need to have a co-blogger.
But, the good news is that Book Baristas now has 2 new co-bloggers! I'm really excited to start working with them!

My new co-bloggers are... Leah and Nina! I've been chatting with both of them on Instagram, and they're so sweet and wonderful! They write fantastic book reviews as well!
Now I'm going to leave them to introduce themselves!

August TBR

Time passes like a blink of an eye! August is finally here! I can't believe that more than half of 2015 is over! Today I'm going to share the books I want to read in the month of August! I want August to be a very good reading month for me, considering that I couldn't read much in July as I'd gone on a vacation.

(Click on the book cover to open that book's Goodreads page)

The first two books I plan on reading, and am really excited about, are
